Some Days

Some Days137[1]

Some Days you feel on top of the world! Some days you know that you know that you know that you know.. you can do all things you put your mind to. Some days you conquer the world just by walking on the sunshine that IS your life!

Some days???…. I hope that is most days for you!

Other days – it is hard to get out of bed. These days it seems as though everything you do and everything you say is wrong. You burn the toast (why are you eating toast anyway!!), then burn your green tea! You are late out the door in the morning and it seems as though you are walking through quick sand. You slept through your alarm and missed your morning workout…

We all have such days. These days are the days I need to look deep within and find the light, find my focus and find my energy. Don’t give it away! I know it is harder on these days to smile. I know it can be harder on these days to even be BOTHERED getting dressed.

  • Do not allow the mind and the stupid lies it tells you to knock you off your perch.
  • Do not give in to the weakness that can be you. We all have weakness sometimes. It is OK. Just get over it and walk THROUGH it. Cry if you have to, but not in despair– just get those feelings out then move on, end of story.
  • Use your words to strengthen yourself. Do not berate yourself as we are so inclined to do in these situations.
  • You are not the only person in the world who feels as though they are at the bottom of the heap. We ALL feel these feelings at times. Are you aware  the most successful person you respect has feelings of inadequacy. The difference with them is: they do not allow their feelings to control their actions.

Do you let your feelings rule your world or your FAITH?

  • Most people let their feelings rule their world. DON’T be most people.
  • Use your FAITH to build your reality. Use your faith when you feel like everything you do is wrong, or goes wrong.
  • Do not believe the little nasty voices in your head- we all have them- you are not going crazy. DON’T listen to them. DON’T engage in conversation with them (yourself). IGNORE them. Speak positive. The more you speak it, the more real it will become for you; good or bad so consider this:

What are you creating in your world through the words you use?

Impossible is nothing.

You are MORE than that. Nothing is impossible for those that believe, for those that have hope, for those that have faith. You do not need a lot to make the change- a tiny ember can burn a house down. All you need is a tiny ember of faith to start. It takes effort  a lot of effort when you crumble and fall. I know. I have lived it, many times over. But what are the options… to sit there and wallow in self pity and ask ‘why me?’ ‘Its not fair?’ ‘Life is so hard?’ -Choose to act like a 3 month old baby and need to be spoon fed?! This becomes tiresome, draining and boring for you and for others who have to listen to the whinging. Friends fall away fast as they get on with their lives. Succeeding and pushing through their own issues. Lonely? You created it through your own pathetic behaviour.

There is no time like now to change this- Get Up. Change. It can hurt. It can be painful and even more painful the longer the self pity has been in place. It doesn’t matter. Do it. Question: How painful is it sitting in your own mess right now?! With each day, with each step, it gets easier.

You may think the world wants to keep you under the thumb and helpless. So choose to walk away from this thinking. Choose your own path. Choose to get out of bed on those days Choose your pathwhen it hurts so much. Choose to be different. Do not let your head, nor what other people say- nor the concern for what other people may think about what you are doing, affect your life. You will soon learn the world can work in your favour- but it is entirely up to you and your attitude.

There will be days that are tough, there may be weeks, or even months. Plough through them. Do not stop. Why stop if you are in hell?! Keep going!! You will reach the light, you will get back on track, you will succeed in your goal. If only you keep going.

I write this as I know how it is to yo-yo in life. If a psychiatrist could grab me in a low trough, they would have a field day prescribing me medication of all colours, shapes and sizes! Yet I am an incredibly blessed, capable, successful human being?! Absolutely- we all have our strengths. We all have our weaknesses.

  • Understand what makes you tick.
  • Understand what slows you down.
  • Get over and out of bad ‘habits’ formed. It IS that simple.
  • Change your behaviour. Change the words you speak over yourself. Plough through the crappy times. Focus on the good stuff and do your best to stay out of the bad stuff.

Enjoy your life!!

When you are feeling down on yourself how about getting out and doing something good for someone else! Take the focus off yourself...the world does not revolve around you- but you sure can make it revolve around someone else and by doing so- you will find your self pity (because that is what it is really) dissipates. And life is filled with roses once again.

Australia Day 26th Jan 2012

by Vashte on January 26, 2012

Australia Day is TODAY here in Australia!!

This is where we as a nation all have a day off work and traditionally head to the beach to throw a shrimp on the barrbee or a snag :) Translation – we cook prawns and sausages on the BBQ! A fair bit of drinking is usually done; of the brown malty substance by the boys, whilst the girls will sip their favourite chardonnay share a few laughs.

An enjoyable relaxing day for many.

We are blessed as a nation to have the ability, freedom and wealth to celebrate such a day. As I indulged in an unexpected sleep-in this morning, I woke to feel refreshed and indeed grateful for (another) day off.  What to do?  We experienced unusual flooding from rains in many parts of my state this week so the usual celebrations have been called off due to the grounds being… underwater.

The sun however, in true Aussie form, is trying to peep through the clouds. This is causing incredible humidity (feels like 100% to me) as the water evaporates – mmm sticky and sweaty.  I took my (later the usual) power walk, pumping my little 1kg hand weights and breaking up my stride with walking lunges.  I do this in camouflage  (cap, sunglasses and loose baggy track pants) due to copious amounts of sweat in this heat.  I walk the talk when I tell you to train ugly!! The ocean is a girl’s favourite friend after training like this – strip down to bikinis (under the camouflage) and in you go for the morning dip. Nice. Awesome way to start the day on Australia Day, and every day.

But today, let’s be even more grateful for our lives and the quality of life that we have. While it is nice to have the day off, it is also important to take a moment and reflect on ALL that we have as a nation.

Australians are ALL wealthy in worldly terms. We have food in our fridge- we HAVE fridges. We have clothes on our back.. often designer clothes too. We get our hair cut, styled, coloured, straightened, curled… You name it.. and often we girls will get manicures and pedicures. We drive a car to work, or choose to cycle. Many (most) Australian’s drink alcohol in the weekend, many smoke, and many party all weekend long. We CHOOSE these things. Some choose a different lifestyle in health -they join a gym or get Personal Trainers. These are ALL choices. We worry about our (over) weight problems BUT we reach for that extra cookie, chip or piece of pizza….

However ALL these things are discretionary- they are things many people in the world will never know about, or ever have the option to experience. We are BLESSED as a nation.

On Australia Day this year, let’s be very aware of our wealth. You don’t need to live in the million dollar mansions with the collection of designer cars parked in your garages to be wealthy in Australia. Every single one of us JUST IS. It is a simple fact. Change your outlook on life and realise how blessed we are! Our attitude can change so much in ourselves, and has a direct impact on the  people around us.

By appreciating what we have, and realising we really CAN have what we want – you will bring more into your life.

We live in spacious homes; we are cared for by friends and family. If you don’t have friends and family who care for you, then may I suggest you take a look in the mirror and ask what you can change about yourself, make some changes then go out and meet some new people!! Fresh start! Our Government GIVES money if we choose not to work, and it gives money for those who are incapable of working. It may not be what YOU THINK is enough to live on, but it is a whole lot more than what other nations give – and that is NOTHING.

There is always a way to make it in Australia. So Australian’s… COME ON.. get moving and working!! Don’t sit back ‘expecting’ life to always to easy. The people who make it are the people who have a dream, set goals and then get to work to make it happen. That COULD BE YOU TOO!!

The only thing stopping you is you.. so get out of your own way. “You are far too smart to be the only thing stopping you from succeeding in life.”  I like that quote by Jennifer Freeman – although who is to say she coined it first? It matters not, only that it is truth for this nation.

Go guys and girls!! Tell me about your successes in life!!! I want to hear them and so do so many others! YOUR story may be the edge that motivates someone else who THINKS they can’t make it, or has just taken a knock. Success is all about getting back up, and soldiering on. It is about you having faith and believing that against the odds, you can make it! And sometimes it can be a complete stranger who helps you through one of your dark hours – or it could even be an angel sent by God Himself. YOU may never know.

If you have a soldier story- please share it in the comments below…

How Badly Do You Want It?

by Vashte on January 16, 2012

Set your alarm for 5am. Don’t groan when it goes off and pull the covers over your head. GET UP and start your day.

Put on a baggy top and running shorts. Go downstairs and pour yourself a nice big glass of ice water. Cut up some fruit and mix it in with yogurt.

 Now go outside.

Stretch for 10 minutes. Skip for 5 minutes. Jog for 10 minutes. Run for 10 minutes. Walk back. Lay out a towel on the ground and lie down on it. Do 50 crunches. Yes, they hurt, but they are 100% worth it.

When you’re done, get in the shower. Use a nice smelling shampoo and matching conditioner. Shave your legs and wash your body. Exfoliate your face. Get out of the shower and let your hair air dry.

Look in the mirror. DO YOU LIKE WHAT YOU SEE? If you do….good for you.

Do this every day and you will continue to love yourself. If you don’t like what you see, do this EVERY DAY and pretty soon you WILL.

Being lazy might feel good at the time, but being active feels better in the long run.

LIFE – Without your health you have NOTHING. Having all the money in the world but not having your health – is worthless. This life of ours is a blessing. Make each day count and kick start you’re EVERY DAY with movement! You just watch your energy sour like an eagle, and that body of yours change and respond to you taking control! One step at a time!
