Foods and Factors to help Alkalise Your Body

I attribute my success in fat loss as opposed to ‘weight’ loss to my ability of alkalising my body as much as I can through nutrition and keeping a sane state of mind! Here is a link if you would like to read a previous post written on the importance of alkalising the body :) And some recipes to get you there!  The reason I am such an avid follower and believer in getting my body to an alkaline state as often as I can is due to the many studies and testimonies from people healing themselves from life threatening diseases, particularly cancer. Big pharmaceutical companies, some doctors and other ‘professionals’ poopoo this concept; however this is my body and I choose to listen to it as opposed to the money-making-matrix world in which we live. More and more people are waking up to the fact that we do not need the reach for these chemical concoctions whenever we have a tickle in our throat; but can opt for organic green smoothies that look like Shrek’s breakfast; jazz them up by adding high quality vitamin c powder, sprinkle in some l-glutamine and drink as often as you can to help boost the immune system. This aids our awesome body in it’s natural ability to fight off illness. Gone are the nasty side effects from man made drugs!!! The only side effects you get from Shrek’s drink include cleansing the system of toxic waste, cleaner skin, more energy and wait for it… fat loss!!! Something this country is in dire need of.

The results speak for themselves in my body; but I am just one person. However, I have encouraged a number of other people to get on the alkalising band wagon and, shock, horror, they too are experiencing the same energetic results!! Interesting isn’t it that when you focus on INNER health- and clean the body from the INSIDE out other issues just fall away. Instead of focusing on trying to ‘lose weight’ focus on clean whole foods, made from God’s earth as opposed to prepackaged ‘foods’ coming from a cardboard box. Experience what REAL food actually tastes like again. Novel idea: perhaps we can teach our children HOW to cook again? How unfair is it that we are bringing the future leaders of our world up on ‘foods’ that are killing them off before their parents, and for those that do live.. introducing them to a world in a body that is often severely obese or has inbuilt problems before they mature.

I encourage you to eat healthy whole foods. Eat more organic vegetables – yes choosing organic really does matter. Live a more calming lifestyle and remove the stress from your life where you can. We only get one shot at this life, so why not make it as loving, as peaceful and as energetic as you can?! Food is NOT the enemy- it IS your friend! Once you get your body into a more alkaline state, you will often find you are NOT hungry, you DO NOT crave sweets, and you have MORE ENERGY to do the things you love, and be with the people you care for.. for a lot longer than if you make no changes at all.

The food you choose to put in your body MATTERS. If you wouldn’t put the lowest grade petrol in a Maserati- why would you choose to put it in your OWN BODY? Surely your body is worth MORE THAN  the finest car made by man? Absolutely it is. If you stop eating food crammed with sugar, preservatives, chemicals, and cheap ingredients; you will find you stop desiring them, and eventually be repulsed by the thought of eating that type of food. It is true! Being in an alkaline state keeps you healthy from the inside out. It shows. You shine.

Here are some ways to help get you alkaline:

Foods and factors that will help you alkalise your body:

  • Multi-strain probiotics
  • Greens – especially green vegetables, chlorella and wheatgrass, plus fibrous cruciferous vegetables and broccoli, alfa-alfa
  • Vegetables and natural herbs like aubergines, beetroot, broccoli, cabbage, carrots, parsnips, cauliflower, celery, chard, chicory, chives, cucumber, dandelion, dill, endive, fennel,green beans, kale, kelp, lettuce, mushrooms, parsnips, peppers, potatoes, radishes, sorrel, spinach, squash, turnips, watercress
  • Whole grains, seeds, nuts
  • Coconut oil, olive oil, fish oils, flaxseed oil, walnut oil
  • Sunshine and vitamin D
  • Ginger, natural willow bark, garlic, onions, apples, cumin/turmeric, cinnamon, cloves, nutmeg
  • Virtually all fresh fruits especially apples, apricot, avocado, blackberries, blackcurrants, cherries, cranberries, currants, raisins, dates, figs, grapes, lemons, limes, lychees, mangoes, melon, olives, oregano, papaya, peaches, pears, raspberries, redcurrants, watermelon
  • Raw honey, especially manuka; raw molasses
  • Whole brown rice, quinoa
  • Medicinal mushrooms
  • Exercise,prayer, yoga, meditation
  • Sodium bicarbonate
  • Apple cider vinegar (raw organic), fresh lemon or lime juice

Foods and factors that will cause your body to become more acid

  • Synthetic oestrogens (For example HRT, xenoestrogens)
  • Meat – especially mass-market fatty red meat and offal
  • Fruits and vegetables picked unripe and shipped a long way
  • Pulses – if you do not skim off the phytic acid (the surface scum) when you cook them
  • Shellfish – especially prawns, crab, scallops
  • Processed, prepared, canned foods – because of the sodium chloride content
  • Dried meats – hams, sausage, bacon – because of the sodium chloride content
  • Chinese foods – because of the MSG content
  • All refined carbohydrate products – pasta, white bread, white rice, pies, pastries, cakes, noodles, refined breakfast cereals, doughnuts, dumplings
  • Salted snacks – crisps, peanuts
  • All cows’ dairy
  • Fizzy sweet drinks
  • Prepared fruit juices and prepared ‘smoothies’ (high sugar, processed)
  • Caffeine – stimulates liver to release glucose into blood stream (even diet drinks!)
  • Preservatives, jams etc
  • Pickled products
  • Alcohol, especially beer and spirits
  • Lack of sleep
  • Stress, negative emotions, guilt
  • Tobacco

These two lists are not exhaustive. Lemons and limes are an amazing way to start each day – a drink of fresh lemon, ginger and honey with hot water is a great way to start the day alkalised. Other foods like liver, shellfish and crab also have issues to do with stored toxins and chemicals. Factors such as white can liners (BPA), plastic bottles (BPA, phthalates), nail polishes containing toluene, perfumes on your skin  containing certain toxins  can all heighten your oestrogen levels and result in a toxic body.

Stay alkaline; stay healthy from the inside out and live a long and healthy vibrant life.
