Why I LOVE Coconut Oil

by Vashte on November 29, 2013

Coconut Oil has risen to fame in the last couple of years. Actually all coconut products have.

Rightly so if you ask me.

  • I have replaced all cooking oil with extra virgin organic coconut oil.
  • I cover myself in coconut oil as a moisturiser at night.
  • I marinate my hair in coconut oil once a week.
  • I swish coconut oil around in my mouth every morning to keep my teeth white, and draw toxins out.
  • I use coconut oil as a fat loss product in my diet.
  • I buy young coconuts from the supermarket when they are in season and drink the water, then use the flesh in smoothies.
  • I drink canned coconut water occasionally to rehydrate. Fresh is best but they are not in season all year round.
  • There are no side effects to coconuts. None at all to my knowledge.
  • There is no chance of developing cancer from using coconuts, in fact coconuts have high antioxidant properties so are carcinogenic fighting machines! (cancer fighting machines!)
  • There are no toxins found in coconuts.
  • Coconut products are easy to digest.
  • Coconut products are much cheaper than expensive toxic laden beauty products.
  • The molecular structure of coconut oil does not change to become harmful for human consumption when heater, as opposed to most other oils, including olive oil.

It works for me. Why dont you try it too? Here are some Health Benefits of Coconut Oil as sourced from “The healing miracles of coconut oil” by Bruce Fife. N.D, published by Health Publications. PO Box  25203, Colorado Springs, CO 80936. So dont just take it from me!! Here is one of many  ‘papers’ stating what health nuts world wide, like me,  have known for centuries!!!

Coconut Oil– has no harmful or discomforting side effects to humans.

So there you have it. Straight from the horses mouth, or rather, the naturopath’s mouth. Head down to your local health food shop to grab your tub of virgin organic coconut oil. It is recommended to have 2-4 tablespoons per day- start with one tablespoon and increase your tablespoons as time permits. You don’t get fat by adding good fat to your diet. You WILL detox  and become healthier by adding clean wholefoods to your diet, as opposed to chocolate, chips and fastfood. It really is not that hard to figure out once we understand the basics. I have gone back to eating how I imagine my grandparents ate- and my body likes me for it. Yours may too if you give it a go.

I don’t have a particular brand of Coconut Oil I prefer. They are all much of a muchness- and vary in price and prettiness of the bottle. The prettier the bottle- the more expensive it is generally. As I live in Queensland, I have an organic store called Mrs Flannery’s I visit – so I buy the ‘home brand’ organic virgin coconut oil from them. The others vary in flavour slightly, some with a stronger taste of coconut, but from what I have learnt- they are all much of a muchness. It is all pretty marketing, as per usual. Head out and swop your oil over to coconut oil- it needs to be organic and virgin. And watchout for the coconut ‘butter’- that is different to coconut oil!! Get the oil. Use it everywhere and on everything!!

Feed your body well, and your mind may stop farting so often 😉 Makes sense doesn’t it, really. When you think about it.
